Thunder Forever - Our Memorial

We are truly overwhelmed by the tremendous outpouring of love and support from the blogosphere.  We have received so many beautiful comments and private emails and cards from all over the world.  We always thought of Thunder as a very BIG BOY, but he was bigger in ways we never dreamed.  Mom has been trying to thank all our commenters individually, but so far we are only about halfway through the very long list.  We promise we will get there eventually.  We are finding that many of you don't have blogs and we can't always find a way to contact you - but please know that we so appreciate your kind thoughts and words.

We hope you enjoy our video slideshow of Thunder's life with The OP Pack. Mom apologizes for how long it is, but she found it very hard to eliminate the many photos we have of her special boy.  It was a very tearful project, lots of tissues and sniffles, but in some ways, it was also very therapeutic.  If you don't have time to watch it all now, please do come back another day and enjoy it then.

You can also watch it on YouTube HERE.   Or click on the little rectangle in the lower right corner of the video box and watch it full screen.

We were not able to post our video through YouTube with the music Mom wanted to use because of copyright issues:(  But we wanted to dedicate this song to Thunder.

Oh we never know where life will take us
I know it's just a ride on the wheel
And we never know when death will shake us
And we wonder how it will feel

So goodbye my friend
I know I'll never see you again
But the time together through all the years
Will take away these tears
It's okay now
Goodbye my friend

I've seen a lot things that make me crazy
And I guess I held on to you
We could've run away and left well maybe
But it wasn't time and we both knew

So goodbye my friend
I know I'll never see you again
But the love you gave me through all the years
Will take away these tears
I'm okay now
Goodbye my friend

Life's so fragile and love's so pure
We can't hold on but we try
We watch how quickly it disappears
And we never know why

But I'm okay now
Goodbye my friend
You can go now
Goodbye my friend

Thunder, we all miss you so very much.  This was just so not fair, but then cancer never is.

Woos - Phantom, Ciara, Lightning, and Mom

You're right. Cancer is never fair. I love the lyrics to the song you wanted to use. I think that it is important to tell them that it's okay to go... that we will survive. I'm sure that Thunder knew that with you, especially with his beloved Ciara to look after you.

Beautifully done. Hugs, KB, Angel K, R, and Shyla.

PS Notice that Angel K is always here when it's important. It will be the same for Angel Thunder.

Thanks for sharing that with us, Kathie. Those Sibe eyes say so much. Thunder was obviously very well loved, and I'm sure he knew it.

Also, don't feel like you have to reply to all the comments, or at least that you have to do it soon! I'm sure it must be difficult right now, please don't worry about that right now!

  89. I'm sorry that we are just now commenting on this post, but Mom didn't think she could watch it for a while. It was a lovely tribute and we feel honored to have been a part of it. While we feel sad every time a blog friend passes away, Thunder's passing has bothered Mom a lot. Probably for several reasons. She had met Thunder, she's friends with you, and also Thunder was only 6 months older that we are and it all seemed to happen so fast. I guess it really hit home how we need to not take for granted any time we have together.

We hope you are all doing okay and that Ciara is adjusting to not having her buddy around. We didn't remember that one picture of them on the deck where she is completely laying on him. So funny! What a pair.
